Instead of using Eset again, just would like to try another scanner to complete another virus scan on my computer. Since most of you all are very well qualified in the security field, perhaps some one would direct me to a very good Safe Free Virus scanner to check my computer for bugs, Please.

Re: Avast! online scan. The on-line scan won't know if it isn't detected until it is scanned, however if you know for sure it is malware you can submit a sample. Send the sample to virus@avast.com zipped and password protected with password in email body and false undetected malware in the subject. You could also check the offending/suspect ...

Confirm by examination (virustotal) that it is indeed an FP, this helps all avast users (see ### below). 2. If only avast and gdata detect it then it is possible it is an FP.

I generally feel secure with Avast Free anti-virus, but now I have experienced downloading a zip-file (with Firefox 15 and 16 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) where the Firefox download-window indicates that the file is being virus-scanned and found clean, and I can unpack the zip-file without any messages.

this is my first posting in this forum. I come from Germany and I use Avast i.e. after a download with the Firefox internal download manager. There is an extension for firefox "download scan" with an option to activate an antivirus scanner after download. When I activate the scanner with ashQuick.exe as you have already mentionend, it doesn't work.
