Message authentication code. In cryptography, a message authentication code ( MAC ), sometimes known as an authentication tag, is a short piece of information used for authenticating and integrity -checking a message. In other words, to confirm that the message came from the stated sender (its authenticity) and has not been changed (its integrity).
One-key MAC ( OMAC) is a family of message authentication codes constructed from a block cipher much like the CBC-MAC algorithm. It may be used to provide assurance of the authenticity and, hence, the integrity of data. Two versions are defined: The original OMAC of February 2003, which is seldom used. Zone 5 uses eight 2-digit codes (51–58) and two sets of 3-digit codes (50x, 59x) to serve South and Central America. Zone 6 uses seven 2-digit codes (60–66) and three sets of 3-digit codes (67x–69x) to serve Southeast Asia and Oceania. Zone 7 uses an integrated numbering plan; two digits (7x) determine the area served: Russia or Kazakhstan.
ISO 3166-1 ( Codes for the representation of names of countries and their subdivisions – Part 1: Country codes) is a standard defining codes for the names of countries, dependent territories, and special areas of geographical interest. It is the first part of the ISO 3166 standard published by the International Organization for Standardization .
The area codes are allocated within the North American Numbering Plan (NANP). The two original area codes for Missouri in 1947 were 314 and 816. Area code 417 was split off from 816 in 1950, and the other area codes followed more than 40 years later, due to the proliferation of Cellular Phones and Pagers.
The internal codenames of Mac OS X 10.0 through 10.2 are big cats. In Mac OS X 10.2, the internal codename "Jaguar" was used as a public name, and, for subsequent Mac OS X releases, big cat names were used as public names through until OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion", and wine names were used as internal codenames through until OS X 10.10 "Syrah".
