The question is regarding the speaker placement. Can I put the two height speakers where speakers 9 and 10 are showing in the attached picture, please ignore the fact the picture is not ...

  3. Is 5.1.2 Atmos worth it - AVS Forum

If you can tell the difference between sounds coming from around you versus sounds coming from above you, then it is worth going Atmos. Your current set-up provides a nice 2D ring of sound. Height speakers will turn that into a 3D bubble of sound. sigpig and Wade.

  4. Dolby Atmos Basic 5.1.2 setup for Denon AVR-X owners

The Dolby Atmos option is only for upfiring dolby atmos enabled speakers. All other positions either Top (Ceiling) or Height should be selected depending on position and will be used by Dolby Atmos or DTS:X as required. So for a 5.1.2 with ceiling speakers above the listening position the Top Middle is the correct option.

  5. A Guide to Dolby Atmos in the Home - AVForums

    www.avforums.com/articles/a-guide-to-dolby-atmos-home-cinema-surround-sound.10476

The Dolby Atmos system, whether in the cinema or in the home, is designed to determine what speakers to use to precisely recreate the helicopter’s movement in the way the filmmakers intend. As a result Atmos is also far more flexible and adaptable than channel-based home cinema systems. In a channel-based system with channel-based content ...

  6. Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 speaker placement of .2 speakers

    www.avforums.com/threads/dolby-atmos-5-1-2-speaker-placement-of-2-speakers.2295694

Hi if you're only after a 5.1.2 setup, height speakers should be placed at the front not rear. If you want to place them as heights, I'd mount them as high up and close to the ceiling as possible, in line with your front L&R speakers. Pointing down to the MLP (see 1st pic).

  7. 7.1 vs 5.1.2 Atmos - AVS Forum

    www.avsforum.com/threads/7-1-vs-5-1-2-atmos.3124768

Looking for anyone's input on having a traditional 7.1 setup or 5.1.2 with two overhead Atmos channels. I currently have my speakers configured for 7.1, but I could easily move two of the surrounds to be overhead instead (my theater is in my basement with an exposed ceiling, so I have plenty of room and I can easily move speakers around).

  8. How does Dolby Atmos work on a 5.1 system? - AVS Forum

    www.avsforum.com/threads/how-does-dolby-atmos-work-on-a-5-1-system.3038880

without Atmos (or Atmos forced switched off due to a 5.1 system) the helicopter circles through the lower speakers. in short: there is no advantage with an Atmos signal and a 5.1 system and very small to zero advantage with a 7.1 system (a little bit more with 7.1 and front wide speakers).

  9. 5.1.2 Atmos speaker placement help - AVS Forum

    www.avsforum.com/threads/5-1-2-atmos-speaker-placement-help.3276089

So I'm a little confused on best spot to place my 5.1.2 speakers for Atmos and wanting advice for my room situation. FYI. Pics on wall can't move. The Atmos speakers will be Polk R900s (weigh 6.6lbs each). Dolby guideline pics show em in line with the front L/R (Note I DO NOT mean above front L/R, I just mean on the same axis).

French manufacturer Focal's latest Sib Evo speaker package is a 5.1.2-channel system designed specifically to handle immersive object-based audio soundtracks. The package itself consists of two Sib Evo Dolby Atmos loudspeakers, with additional upward-firing drivers to create the overhead channels, three Sib Evo Satellites and a Cub Evo subwoofer.

  11. Adding Dolby Atmos speakers to an existing set-up 5.1.2.

    www.avforums.com/threads/adding-dolby-atmos-speakers-to-an-existing-set-up-5-1...

To get Atmos you need to mount them higher up and angled down. Putting them at ear height behind you is more like rear speakers in a 7.1. I would consider either KEF Q50a or Dali Alteco-C1. I would recommend Alteco-C1 as they can be used as either Height or Up-firing (set by switch). Panasonic TX-65GZ950B, Sony HT-G700, Oppo UDP-203 (MZ ...
