Oct 13, 2023. #19. Top Tier contains additional detergent additive above what is required by the EPA. It equals about 3x the LAC level of detergent. BP recently (within 12 mo.) dropped Top Tier because they believed their Invigorate fuel outperformed Top Tier. Which it probably does.

Jan 15, 2023. #2. Octane has nothing to do with being Top Tier or not. It's all dependant on the brand and whether they meet TT standards. If a certain brand does, then ALL octane levels must. Both Shell and Chevron are TT, therefore their 87 octane will meet TT standards. L.

I joined Sam's Club a few days ago and today I filled up with their gas which is about 25c a gallon cheaper than the city average.
