According to the official Epic Games page, when Vbucks do not appear in the account after being redeemed, you must log in to Fortnite on the same platform where you used your secondary code. If you are logged into the correct account, this will activate the redemption.
Bought a Fortnite V-Bucks card and I logged in to my Epic Games account to redeem it. When I entered the code, it says "Invalid Code". It also appears that the code I scratched on the back of the card is less numbers/letters than the example Epic Games gives on the redemption screen example.
