Texas (band) Texas is a Scottish rock band from Glasgow, founded in 1986 by Johnny McElhone (formerly of the bands Altered Images and Hipsway ), Ally McErlaine, and Sharleen Spiteri (on lead vocals). Texas, despite their name, has no connection with the state of Texas USA. Texas made their performing debut in March 1988 at the University of Dundee.
The show was famous for its cliffhangers, including the "Who shot J.R.?" mystery and the "Dream Season". The original miniseries (consisting of five episodes) from 1978 is now presented as "Season 1" in keeping with the initial release on DVD in 2004, although originally Season 1 officially began with the episode that aired on September 23, 1978.
