Starting in September 2022, DJI has produced drones that meet the requirements of the Remote ID rule. These Remote ID-compliant drones will have RID-compliant labels affixed before leaving the factory. We currently don't have information yet about the Mini 2 getting firmware for having a RID broadcasting capability.

Hello there bjr981s. I am sorry fro the trouble this has caused and thank you for reaching out. The DJI Mini 2 cannot currently use DJI Assistant 2 for firmware updates. DJI Assistant 2 can only be used to export aircraft and remote controller data. Please use the DJI Fly application to update the firmware for your DJI Mini 2.
Another update. After I returned my last DJI MIni 2 because is was "already bound to another account", I bought 3 more used ones from Amazon. Why you might ask, well Amazon Warehouse sold them in the low €300 range because of a glitch and I figured I had little to lose. I actually got 2 opened ones and 1 sealed one with only a damaged box.
