It is how a speaker sounds that is important. You can buy the Omen DW's for $999 and the Forte's are going to cost you a lot more. I find the Zu's to be brighter than the Klipsch but they will not need as much to drive them as the Forte's. In either case, tube amplification is best.
Full written review (with more data and subjective evaluation): Klipsch Heresy IV Speaker Review. Below is a highlight of the review. Frequency Response: The mean SPL, approximately 94dB at 2.83v/1m, is calculated over the frequency range of 300Hz to 3,000Hz. The on-axis frequency response is extremely non-linear, measuring +3dB/-4dB above 74Hz.
Dax_Frost A Visual Loop. Location: Houston, Texas. He elaborates a little more in the comments. They will be made by Klipsch in Hope, Arkansas and will be a limited run. Dropping Sept. 10 on the Ojas website and a few pairs in some stores. Didn't see anything about specs. Dax_Frost, Sep 4, 2024.
It's my opinion that they will benefit from tubes as much if not more so than Klipsch Heritage speakers, which have a fatter bottom end that helps to balance the sound in real-world listening. Still, I wouldn't pair the 600s with a tube amp of <10 watts/ch, preferably 20 watts/ch.
Seems as though overpowering Klipsch Heritage speakers is a thing — kicks the cabinet resonance into overdrive. Of course, the Forte IV is a different speaker, though I bet they’d become entirely different animals with a tube amp of moderate power. Running Klipsch with high power SS is akin to putting enduro tires on a sport bike.
My current set up is a Cambridge Audio AXR85 with Wharfedale Denton 80th anniversary. Although I love my Dentons, I wanted to change things up a bit and the Klipsch RP 600 caught my eye. I've been looking into articles about these speakers for some time now, but would love to hear more personal experiences from you guys out there.
Many established audio companies are run by an older generation that, rightfully, cater to the demographics they relate to and have built their business through (not limited to he audio industry). It doesn't surprise me at all that @LGA2's son would prefer OJAS over "traditional" Klipsch. The younger generation have different priorities and ...
The Fosi Audio ZA3, like their V3 Class D amp, has 5 sockets for plug-and-play op amp installation. The link to their Website below explains how to replace the op amps. Fosi Audio Product User Instruction ZA3. rhing, Jan 1, 2024. #3.
There are two sets locally that I'm interested in. My listening area is pretty small. Around 13' x 14'. I've never had bookshelves before but am considering a pair. I want to spend under $1000. The two contenders are: Paradigm Studio 20 v5 bookshelves for $850 (Canadian - around $655 USD) with stands and Klipsch Rf-5 towers for $900 (Cdn ...
Scott. Chorus II, Forte II and all the Quartets have the tractrix mid horn I believe. I found a mint pair of Quartets locally for $500 so $1.2k is on the high side. Be patient and be flexible on model. I used to run Polk speakers (Monitor 5's, 7's and 10's) with Peerless tweeters until I found my Quartets.
