February 8, 2019 4:22 PM. We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Albert Finney. He was a huge part of the National Theatre acting company from its early days in Chichester and performed many roles over the years, including Hamlet which opened the Lyttelton Theatre in 1976. Offsite Link.
One of my favorite movies, but I have only seen it once on TCM. Why have they not made a Blu Ray yet? The DVD alone is $38.63! The movie stars Albert Finney as Sir and Tom Courtenay as The Dresser. The supporting cast includes Edward Fox, Zena Walker, Eileen Atkins, and Michael Gough. How can I get TCM to air this again?
Every adult cast member is great, too- Albert Finney, Carol Burnett, Tim Curry, Ann Reinking, Bernadette Peters, Geoffrey Holder, Roger Minami, Lois de Banzie, Peter Marshall, and Edward Herrmann as President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Every musical number is a show stopper. The film was after it's time.

The story itself is the darkest tale of conditions for children in merry-old-England, where you have to choose between eating, or molestation and death. The David Lean movie of Oliver Twist is far, far superior, and it has a superior villain too. It is terrifying, which is how it should be. by Anonymous.

However, no gay content, a brief bi encounter on screen, and - of course - lesbian romance between two young girls. The gays have some non-gay related screen time.
