Whine-whine-whine. It’s always something. The things cost a fortune-- even the “cheap” ones-- and I believe in getting my money’s worth. But people give up on trying to get the best out of the hearing aids and out of their provider. I don’t know anyone besides me who is 100% satisfied with their hearing aids and wears them all the time.
There’s a guy I know (but not well enough to ask him this directly). I’ve seen on a few occasions he has a small oval-shaped disk attached to his head. It’s about an inch across. He wears it a little ways above his right ear. It’s not attached to his ear nor does it have any wires which run to his ear, so I don’t feel it’s a hearing aide. It sticks to his head but it’s not ...
Minor sidetrack… My hearing aid app has a “find my hearing aids” function. I laughed about this at my last audiologist visit. I said “My hearing aids are either in the charger, or in my ears. Where else would they be?” My audiologist explained that that function is not for people like me, it’s for people who only wear them occasionally.
According to the Florida Board of Medicine, Dr. Ishwari Prasad couldn't hear the patients yelling in pain because he wasn't wearing his hearing aids. Too much stupid: If you are seriously hearing impaired to the point that you can’t hear a screaming patient right in front of you, then you are aware of your hearing problem, and you can tell ...
I bought some OTC pain meds for backache. Each tablet contains 500mg paracetamol and 7.5mg dihydrocodeine tartrate. Apparently, these are the strongest painkillers you can buy without prescription in the UK. However, I recall a conversation I had with a nurse a few years ago wherein she said that the minimum effective dose for codeine was 30mg ...
I know the United States uses the following as Generation terms: The Lost Generation (born from 1883 to 1900) The Greatest Generation (born from 1901 to 1927) The Silent Generation (born from 1928 to 1945) Baby Boomers (born from 1946 to 1964) Generation x (born from 1965 to 1980) Millenials (born from 1980 to 1994) Generation Z (born from 1995 to 2012) Generation Alpha (born 2012 to 2024) I ...
The actor Desmond Harrington, aka “Quinn” on Dexter, began the show looking healthy and strong. However, as the seasons progressed, he gradually began to lose weight. It was subtle at first, but became very exaggerated over the course of Season 5, to the point where he really looks absolutely horrible. He seems haggard and unhealthy; his cheeks are sunken in and his skin looks very ...
Not going to happen. Giving each $1,000 is conceivably doable but solves very little. Which, BTW, is the usual objection to UBI (Universal Basic Income) schemes. The problem digs deeply into the way we have chosen to run capitalism. The enormous concentration of wealth in the top 1% is not predestined.
DavidNRockies September 19, 2024, 9:47pm 16. Lots of people don’t use their CPAP’s adequately (as much as is considered necessary in order to substantively reduce OSA), so I’d imagine they’re vetting people in the hopes of increasing compliance, along with any other motivating factors:
Not sure if this is the right spot, but I’ll give it a go. My wife and I moved to Europe for early retirement. Ultimately the language requirement to get citizenship after a few years is pretty light, A2 by the CEFR. I’ve been studying for a year or so and am pretty confident and my wife is on her way. A2 is basic ability. We meet a lot of expats here and the discussion turned to language ...
