Since you can't remove a Steam linked account, you can't change it I don't think? Soooooooooo basicly unless I can find out what account is linked to steam I lost £40 on a game that doesn't work because of a stupid "feature" that is up in "the top 10 WORST IDEAS EVER"??!!

My dota 2 items have been stolen and hijacked at 15 Dec 14. I've submitted a ticket for steam support at the same day. Yet, i still never receive any feedback from steam support. here we can access the original_id which can be used to what you want to achieve but this is only going to work with the appids that has the interfaces supported. EDIT: for some reason artifact "IEconItems_583950" doesn't have the method > GetPlayerItems.
