I just installed unity hub but I'm unable to create a new project, whatever location I chose it always says the same thing: unable to create project. I've already tried to reinstall unity, launch it with administrator, set the location folder to document, C drive. nothing works
This is the only piece of software on my computer that has issues. There are almost no downsides. Even if Unity Hub has issues you can still launch unity normally. It sticks the install for each version under C:\Program Files\Unity\Hub\Editor\<version>\Editor. You can choose to launch it from double-clicking the unity.exe if you need to.
Right click the project in the Unity hub and click "Show in explorer" Rename the folder to whatever you want it to be. Restart Unity Hub (make sure you close it from the system tray) You will need to add the project again by clicking this button

I would consider unity hub as basically part of unity at this point, not sure why they even make it separate. I don't see why you wouldn't want to use it. Its just a launcher for your projects, plus it allows you to update unity and get multiple versions without needing to do it manually. That said, there is an option to download it without hub.
Unity Hub launches Unity Editor as a sub-process. If you have the editor running, it will show up on Task Manager as “Unity Hub”. My Unity has been hogging CPU for some reason, and it gets WORSE when it's a background process. Eats up 80% of CPU when inactive, drops to like 15% when I actually work in Editor.
This might be a little late and I just encountered this and tried end task and run as admin unity hub. Doesn't work. What worked for me was went home and used my own internet and everything worked perfectly fine so yeah, maybe we have the same scenario, because of the network.
