In true bogo, the first item is full price and the second is $0.00. In half bogo, the first item is half of full price and you only have to buy one (the second is also half price, if you choose to get a second item). I know Georgia is half bogo. Florida is true bogo. Can anyone fill in the details for other states Publix operates in? Thanks.

At my store you can only get 8 items that are BOGO unless it's advertised as 10 for 10. Just the other day someone from another store came in trying to buy over 25 of a BOGO and I had to apologize telling him that we're only allowed 8 items. He wasn't happy and even called my ASM over to confirm what I said. ASM backed me up.

Publix will RAPE you on prices. BOGO isn't always best. Somethings I don't mind, like Progresso soups. $18.80 for 12 cans. Other things you learn are a scam. Like the big totes going bogo every year after Christmas. I can get better and bigger ones at home depot.
The two exceptions are as above, states that allow you to get 1 item at half price for bogo sales and build your own bogo type sales which expand the items that can be matched for a bogo. The register automatically checks for bogos and applies savings so if in doubt, you can confirm by ringing the items up, but I wouldn't do that if the store ...
BOGO usually beats the Warehouse prices. Not anymore... FitVine Cab Sauv - $12.99 at ABC but it's $20.79 at Publix but it's BOGO! So it's really $2.50 off if you buy two... We've started doing Kroger delivery but still shop at Publix for BOGO and occasional things but now even Kroger is cheaper than a BOGO at Publix on some things.
I (customer) just had a Publix order delivered. When I put in a BOGO item, I was prompted to up the number to 2 in order to take advantage of the deal. I did so, and the app only charged the one price but gave me both items. At least for my laptop in my area, the BOGO is available and working on Publix orders made through the IC site. YMMV :)
They do let you split non-BOGO sales. Other states Public's allow BOGO splitting, probably due to state law. I have to wonder why. To make the difference clear: BOGO: "B1G1 $6.00 ($3.00 savings)" These will ring up as the full price for both at the register, then offset the second with a third negative priced line item.
Relating to Florida Publix stores. Is this down to individual stores or is there an official policy for this? When an item is BOGO (buy one get one free) but they only have 1 of the item, should they ring it up full price or 50% off?
