i was able to solve the issue. i just redownloaded the RSAT tools from microsoft. Technically i shouldn't need to do this but it worked and now my active directory snapins are present. MS Windows 10 RSAT tools

DirSync tool and the AADSync tool have the similar UI and process, so you can download the AADSync tool and go through the setup experience, enter your local AD credential and Office 365 admin credential, check the Exchange Hybrid and password sync options, and then the tool will do the integration.

I have windows server 2012 R2 (Standard) based Domain Controller with AD environment, and I decide to sync my AD users and integrate with Azure AD365, however when I tried to install Azure AD Connect on my local windows 2012 R2, it told me that the Azure AD Connect can only be installed on windows server 2016 or higher.
How can we get the Active Directory Search tool in Windows 10? I need to verify Windows accounts by searching AD, and don't find the AD search tool anymore.
