For DaVinci Resolve 18.6 we have taken efforts to keep the project libraries compatible with DaVinci Resolve 18.1.4. While this allows you to access the project library with 18.1.4, individual projects created or opened in 18.6 will no longer be accessible in 18.1.4.
So - to save others struggling - here are the minimum hardware requirements for DaVinci Resolve 18.0.4 on Windows which I just got from the Readme. • Windows 10 Creators Update. • 16 GB of system memory. 32 GB when using Fusion. • Blackmagic Design Desktop Video 10.4.1 or later.

This will place a Resolve log file named similar to this on your Windows desktop: DaVinci-Resolve-logs-20181228_140434.zip (You may not see the .zip extension if your system is set to hide known extensions).
It says GPU initialization failed after I try to open Davinc. When I try to open Davinci Resolve, it gets stuck at loading and Im seeing a screen with "GPU initialization failed". Under Mac in the same package of installer you have uninstaller. Under win go to control panel and from app install remove you can uninstall resolve. Keep in mind that if you load an old version of resolve are not compatible with your actual database, like every other software that are not back compatibles.
