Background: I got fitted at two different Allen Edmonds stores, and both stores suggested I get 11D in the 65 last. I purchased Strand and McGregor seconds online and have been wearing each of them twice a week, for the past four weeks.

In a couple other lasts, it's 9.5D and they fit, just not as comfortably. Some lasts just don't fit me at all. The shape of the shoe doesn't agree with the shape of my foot. The only way to find that out is to try shoes on. In Alden, my Indy boots are a 9D, but my longwings in a different last are a 9.5D.
6951 is the code for the AE Medford produced in 1995-96. It was described as a "six inch lace up boot with perforated captoe. Full leather linings and AE lug sole. Mahogany scotch grain calf." It's a good looking boot something like the Bayfield, which was originally produced in the mid-1990s as well.
