The Instant Ink service will normally monitor the ink levels and send cartridges when you have a two-month supply of ink remaining. If you have replaced the Instant Ink cartridges with retail cartridges the printer will not recognize the status of the Instant Ink cartridges and the process to trigger automatic shipments will not work.
