NBR: Carowinds vs. Busch Gardens. DH and I are planning a overnight trip this spring, just the two of us. Holly will stay with my parents (for her first overnight stay away from us). We are big roller coaster people, and were going to go to Busch Gardens, since we had planned to go there in '08, but I got pregnant.

Busch Gardens was going to get a 300 foot b&m giga coaster until it was pulled and re-designed as Mako at sea world. The coaster would have went where Gwazi is located. This doesn't mean they still won't get their giga coaster one day - but I think they will get another family oriented ride first where tidal wave is located.

But I will say that Busch Gardens Williamsburg usually has top notch maintenance and grounds keeping. And concerning the coasters at KD, I personally would not skip Rebel Yell. Rebel Yell is a John Allen coaster. John Allen is the 2nd most famous/important coaster designer ever behind his mentor John Miller.

Years ago, like before Animal Kingdom lodge years ago Busch Gardens was very close to building a hotel that overlooked the plains of Africa. But then September 11th and then AB sold off the parks.. Shame too cause the area surrounding Busch is ROUGH and people avoid staying there just cause of that area.
