I uninstalled McAFee VirusScan Enterprise Edition about 10 years ago when I first started using Microsoft Defender's predecessor on Windows 7. I have search my registry thoroughly and any McAfee remnants have been deleted. I have scanned my whole system and there is no other references to McAfee but the upgrade still does not install.

In Windows 10, when I click on the "Windows Security" icon in the system tray, then click on the "Virus & threat protection" option, it lists my "McAfee VirusScan" twice. I know I only have one active license. (When I click on "Open app" under each of them, I get the same subscription page with the same number of days left).
