Julie was lens replacement pushed on you as a solution to correct vision. I don’t think anyone should opt for this unless for cataracts where vision can no longer be corrected with glasses or contact lenses. I live in Canada cataract surgery is covered by Medicare and no surgeon would do this without a minimum wait between surgeries.

The 2018 European Society of Cataract and Refractive. Surgery Eurequo study showed that 27% of eyes failed to land. within u00020.5 D of the target refraction. Despite improvements in biometry and IOL formulae, and the availability of intraoperative aberrometry, we must still correctly estimate the effective lens.

i had lens replacement surgery a week ago. Before surgery my distance vision was very good but I couldn't read a thing without glasses. Since surgery I can read the smallest of print but can't see further than a couple of metres before everything goes out of focus. I also have a shadow at the corner of both eyes so feel like I'm wearing blinkers.

If you set it to -0.5 D, that would probably bring your total to about -2.0 D or about 0.5 meter. To get good reading vision you would likely have to target -1.0 D with the Vivity. That would give you about the same as a monofocal targeted to -1.5 D. Good vision would be expected with either down to about 0.4 meters.

A monofocal lens is the time-tested workhorse of cataract surgery. It has the lowest incidence of unpleasant problems such as low contrast sensitivity (problems driving at night), glare, halos, etc. However, you will only have good vision at one distance and will need glasses (or contacts) or everything else.

I had lens replacement for both eyes. A couple months later had a detached retina in one eye. Something to be careful with and aware of the risk after cataract surgery. Had to have surgery for the detached retina which recovery was miserable. Had to be face down for the first week 45 minutes out of each hour 24 hours a day.

Five days ago I had phacoemulsification cataract removal/lens implant surgery on my right eye. Currently I'm experiencing the peripheral flickering/dazzling light sensation you described. Although I find it irritating, my wife reminds me the same thing occurred when I had this surgery on my left eye 11 months ago.

laurel1969. I am devastated. I had cataract surgery on 9/11/15, and around December I started to have blurred vision. It is now June 1, 2016, and it starts every time I look at my phone, computer, or even read a magazine. I got computer glasses, and they enlarge the words, but when I put my regular glasses on everything is blurred.
