  2. Can OWL tests and quizzes track your internet activity? : r/uwo -...

    www.reddit.com/r/uwo/comments/q73cbv/can_owl_tests_and_quizzes_track_your_internet

OWL cannot track websites outside of OWL. It can, however, tell us when/what students were looking at during the quiz, but this is something we can see all the time. We just need to go into the site visits log and check for any visits to resources during the quiz/test. 32K subscribers in the uwo community.

  3. OWL is changing. What do we think? : r/uwo - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/uwo/comments/109ll2x/owl_is_changing_what_do_we_think

Standardize the new OWL's usage for all courses in terms of the minimum each course should be populated with (perhaps categorize these minimums by course type, i.e. a writing class probably needs an 'assignments' tab while a biology course probably needs a 'labs' tab) students can expect, create templated versions of the pages professors can ...

When you graduate/alumni, you lose access to OWL, OneDrive, MS Office software, wifi and almost everything else except email/student-Centre. They call it Email-For-Life. All of the extra features of Office 365 go away so you are left with just the email bit. 1. Reply.

  7. owl : r/uwo - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/uwo/comments/jb76rf/owl

Still down as of 3:23. I was able to login in but nothing will load. Traversing through OWL loads infinitely and I have not been able to move off of the Home Screen. Far to convenient that Proctortrack is currently having server issues and now Western.

  8. Are OWL Tests Proctored? : r/uwo - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/uwo/comments/17dc7fw/are_owl_tests_proctored

So no need to worry. OWL tests are not proctored in any way until Brightspace is implemented next year. It’s possible for them to see if you’re focused on the tab or not, but if you have your screen split and keep focused on the owl window (so just have one pdf on the other window that you can scroll through) then you would be fine. I don ...

  9. Owl + Eduroam = Dysfunctional Relationship : r/uwo - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/uwo/comments/maq1yx/owl_eduroam_dysfunctional_relationship

Okay. I think I understand what is going on but not 100 percent sure without talking to the NOC Team at western. So it looks like OWL is hosting locally at western as opposed to at a service provider (Western does have a pretty good data center). But when trying to access it from Eduroam via web, the request is blocked (no responce).

  10. Western to replace OWL with D2L brightspace : r/uwo - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/uwo/comments/13wr3fx/western_to_replace_owl_with_d2l_brightspace

It's an organizational and UI nightmare. That said, choosing D2L over actually good systems, say, Canvas, or iLearn is definitely a classic Western move. OWL was the one good thing about western…They should have looked into Canvas instead of D2L, only thing I’ve used comparable to OWL. Just give us a mobile app.

  11. Can professors see when I am on OWL? : r/uwo - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/uwo/comments/gq5mso/can_professors_see_when_i_am_on_owl

No. We get to see some aggregate analytics (number of visits, number of downloads, time per visit), but nothing about specific students. Profs cannot see WHEN did you accessed, but can see if you have read the notes, and how many times the file has been opened.
