Steam will now ask you how you want to reset your password. If you have Steam Guard mobile authenticator enabled on your account, they will ask you if you want to reset with that. From Steam Support Site:Steam Trading. If you reset your password, you will be restricted from trading for 5 days. If your account has not had any activity for more than 2 months, you will be restricted from trading for 30 days. We do this to help protect users who lose access to their email account.
The Steam client will cut off your password after 64 characters. I think the limit is 64 characters when using the Steam app. (From what I can research on the matter) I suggest doing a password reset and making it 64 or smaller. The password length limit of the Steam Website and the Steam App are different.

Try resetting your Steam settings. To do this, go to the Steam client settings, click on "Interface", and then click on "Reset Steam Settings". When you ask to recover your account you are suppose to enter a code that is sent to your of choice email. When I enter that code correctly and press send, it says that steam had trouble verifying my captcha and tells me to complete the captcha again. When I do try it again it and put in the right code its "wrong" once again.
Exceeded the number of recovery attempts pls help. So i lost connection to steam and tried to go online i was logged out and forgot my password so when i tried the forgot my password it said exceeded the number of recovery attempts on my first try and some said wait 5 to 6 hours others say 24 and others say is a bug idk what to do. On a little sidenote, when I was using steam in my chrome browser, it suddenly logged me out. I don't know why it did that. I had to try to press "ok" on the password confirmation like 6 times before it worked. I'm having an authenticator installed and steam didn't give any warning out about how someone tried to log in from another puter.
