I have never received calls from credit card companies even though employees have old me someone might call. The only verifications I've had were for mortgages. Strange enough, I've had calls from credit card companies about employees that had left the company 6 - 8 years peviously and apparently have become delinquent.
I applied last week for a DIscover miles card and was approved. I currently have a Disocver IT card (cash back). I woke up this morning and seen this request 4506-C request. On the application I indicated 53k income (I personally earn more), transcript for last 2 years tax returned filed is north of 100k. Married filing joint.
Discover could not find me in scorecard but found me a "pre-approval" when I clicked "Find My Offer". I filled out the app and that is the reason for the denial. I'm not worried about whether I'd be approved if I'm indeed eligible (like I said excellent credit, plus no credit apps in >2 yrs), I just can't figure out if Discover considers you ineligible following involuntary closure (or if you have to wait some amount of time after the closure, like 3 yrs, 5 yrs, 7 yrs, etc.).
