7,573. Jan 5, 2021. #11. I went on a hunt in Alaska with a buddy who carried his Savage 110. He didn't blue locktite his scope mount screws and they loosened up. With your Tactical Model I'd test out the detachable mag system and magazines. But like the others have said just test out your rifle and you should be fine.

I have a couple savages already and they are great shooters so I can't see why this wouldn't be also. Any info would be appriciated.

I don't care about pretty so much and am not interested in paying for anything but function out of a deer rifle / target gun. I'm considering a trade of a $350 - $400 gun for an older 16.
Apr 4, 2015. #5. Savage has a philosophy of accuracy over everything else. They have top notch equipment and do build good barrels. The barrel nut is ugly but helps keep costs down. The floating bolt head helps with out of the box accuracy. They just make good rifles.
mississippi. Jul 25, 2019. #2. Bergara. Mine has been half moa with factory ammo, and .25 moa with handloads. Also AICS mags and it fits remmy 700 stocks and triggers. The savage is a little sloppy compared to the bergara, and you won't need to change stocks on the bergara. It has an aluminum chassis in the stock.
Savage rifles out of the box accuracy and their DIY friendliness are hard to beat. I have a few Savage rifles and rifles build with Savage actions, and they are all shooters. There is no one rifle to satisfy everybody, so there will always be mixed reviews, and it is up to the end-user to synthesize the presented information. Good luck!
