SDS Fenrir is the only store mount I recommend to new players because of its built in speed boost. You can use it while exploring new areas in the upcoming expansions. Otherwise I would tell new players that in game mounts are far superior to the other store mounts. I just bought a mount from the Mog Station.
Yeah, it's not in-game so there is no item preview. The best you can do is either guess from the models they use in the pictures (They try to have a number of different body types) or ask around in-game for someone to link you the set.
The moogle delivery will have the items. There is an icon for them on the map, one is in Gridania by the amphitheatre aethrite. If it doesn't have the items there is a button you can click to refresh the screen, but sometimes it can also take a few minutes before the items show up in game. #1.
