Choose which songs you want to put in the game. They must be all .mp3 files with a bit rate no larger than 320Kbps. Go to your games' "Custom Music" folder which is normally located in C:\Users\you\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Custom Music on Windows and go into the folder for any of the seven stations.

Sometimes my custom music plays - sometimes it doesn't. I wish there were some way to find out what song it was *trying* to play when the sound goes off - so I could look at the file. Does anyone know what criteria are needed for the MP3s in the custom folder, i.e. maximum file size and that sort of thing?

Here's instructions: How to provide your save game (Post #7) @crinrict well, this seems to be an oddity: when i click properties on the mp3s in my custom music folders, then details, the ones that play have their bit rate listed as 192kbps, the ones that don't play have absolutely nothing listed after bit rate :o.

Options. RyckRainthrottle. ★ Guide. 2014-10-0811:06 PM. Custom music will not play in the venues at all. On home steroes and the jukebox it is very low in volume compared to the EA music. In clubs and venues it won't play at all. Notice how in a club you just see the notes coming out of the speaker and no music at all. Message 2 of 5.

If I go into my files on my computer, to custom music, and play the song i downloaded and added to the folder, it's not silent, I can hear the entire song.
