    Ask about the cushion construction. At a minimum you want a cushion with an HR (High Resilience) foam. If the cushion has a 1 year warranty chances are that 3-4 years down the road it will begin losing its shape and resilience. Thicker cushions (8" thick) will generally hold up longer than thinner cushions.

    It would cost you $ 800 to re-core a B-Y sofa seats and backs, nothing for H&M. If you decide to go B-Y, look at the 200 series, they are the cutting edge vs the older 900 series dual recliner sofas. In fact, B-Y has beat H&M to market with that 200 series, it's done really nicely with a unique rigid back structure.

    Plus, the upholsterer has to make the patter from scratch. Costs a lot of money to do it right. If you want the best upholstery in the USA, then Kindel, Karges, Councill is a pretty good place to go to. Be prepared to pay $ 10K for a sofa, however, and $ 6K for a chair.
