Our ink tanks do not have expiration dates or expire as ink tanks from other manufacturers may do. The information you have mentioned is a 'lot' number that is used to track where the tank was made. As long as the tanks are sealed or are not stored outside the recommended 32 to 104 F temperature range, the tanks should last indefinitely.
The set-up cartridge and the newly purchased OEM cartridge have exactly the same amount of ink in them, so the only difference between the two are the label on top of the cartridge and the chip itself. I reckon the chip is a special setup chip that causes a DRM in the Canon Image Garden App to block access to this exclusive photo software.
Canon Pixma MG3650. Thanks Peter i did try to re-set the cartridges by holding down the Stop button 5 seconds. Originally this did not work even though it works for a lot of cartridges. After further research i found a solution that worked if we remove both cartridges turn off the printer and re-installed each cartridge individually closing the ...
The PG-243 Cartage holds only 5.6 ml ink. I read on one forum that the man ordered a PG-245 Cartage from Canon and received the PG-243 Cartage. He should send it back as it is not not the same, and does not hold as much ink. Canon list the PG-245 at a cost of $17.99, 8ml ink, and the PG-243 at a cost of 15.99, 5.6ml of ink.
Reaction score. 4,965. Points. 373. Location. Copenhagen Denmark. Printer Model. Canon MP990. The CLI-8 cartridges can replace BCI-6 cartridges in for instance a Pixma 4000, but the PGI-5 PGBK cartridge will need a slight modification to replace a BCI-3e PGBK cartridge.
This is a picture of a CLI-571 "SETUP" cartridge, containing 7 mL of ink. It is possible to top-filling it easily by removing the 4 mm ball plug like all the Canon cartridges I know. But I still do not understand the role of SETUP cartridges . . .
My trusty MX860 has died-Burial this afternoon. I've got backup 220 and 221 cartridges-would like to use them on next printer. Anybody know if any current printers use these cartridges? Thank-you; Gordon
Excuse me if this question has been asked before. I have just bought a canon ip5000 printer that uses one BCI-3eBK and four BCI-6 cartridges. I have bought a set of replacement cartridges, but I can't see no expiration date printed on cartridge boxes. The only thing I can see is an alfanumeric code printed in the bottom of the cartridge box.
You can use Canon/HP/Epson type inks in all Epson's and Brother's (piezo), but for Canon/HP you will have to use Canon or HP types of ink (bubblejet). So Piezo print head based printers (Epson/Brother) can actually deal with most types of inks, as the print head doesn't boil the ink. Colors may be off, but that is another problem.
12. Results! I have used a European Redsetter, and it does indeed reset the regions of the tanks. *However* it took several attempts (applications of the Redsetter) to get the PGI220 (PGBLK) tank to be recognised by the printer, and on occasion after opening the printer lid, the printer will refuse to recognise the PGBLK tank (the solution is ...
