Old Time Pottery is different from Waccamaw Pottery - much smaller but it's still very nice. I agree with tmozer - afraid to go back - will probably spend way too much! 10-29-2010, 01:28 PM

Old Time Pottery is bigger, I think, but Tuesday Morning is similar. They are scattered around, but there is one in Durham across from the South Square Target. 11-07-2007, 09:52 PM

I noticed on Yelp and Google that the Old Time Pottery store in the former Walmart/Kmart on Laurens Rd has permanently closed. I know Gabe's acquired OTP last year but it was my understanding they were moving the Haywood Rd store over there and rebranding to Gabe's I guess they decided to stay on Haywood at The Gallery.

I remember a huge Santa Clause on Dauphin Island Parkway in the Delchamps parking lot. At the corner of Azalea Road and Hwy 90 was a drive-in theater. (I believe it was called the Air Show). Old Time Pottery is there now. At that time, Cottage Hill Baptist Church had a small chapel. They later built a big church that was really modern for its time.

I was also reminded about the old BI-LO where Jason's Furniture is now at the corner of Laurens and Haywood Rd. It had the big plastic cow on top. Then they relocated next to the Walmart (Kmart briefly, now Olde Time Pottery) on Laurens Rd in the 90's. Now they are further down the road at Verdae. Gosh BI-LO has been a revolving door of locations.

And a very cool (I thought at the time) furniture store called Brian Alden -- a little like Crate & Barrel and Pottery Barn--a little more modern but not expensive. And a movie theater (I think I went to the Elm Theater in the "Conard" district once; other than that, it was the movie theater at West Hartford Center, down the street from Brooks ...
