La Grange ( / lə ˈɡreɪndʒ / lə GRAYNJ) is a city in Fayette County, Texas, United States, near the Colorado River. La Grange is in the center of the Texas-German belt. The population was 4,391 at the 2020 census, [ 4] and in 2018 the estimated population was 4,632. [ 5] La Grange is the county seat of Fayette County.
La Grange is a small unincorporated community in rural Stanislaus County, California. Its altitude is 249 feet (76 m). As of 2020 it has a population of 166. It is located at 37°39′49″N 120°27′49″W (37.6635433, -120.4635289) [1] along the Tuolumne River, and is near the La Grange Dam and the New Don Pedro Dam .

La Grange was founded in 1827 when the Oldham County seat was relocated from Westport at the suggestion of Major William Berry Taylor.
