I have the Instant Pot Vortex air fryer. I resisted for a long time because I'm not a fan of single purpose items and I love my Breville Smart Oven w/ air fry but... it's not the same as a dedicated air fryer. I love the darn thing and use it multiple times a week. It is far more flexible than I ever expected.
I also felt I got better vegetable and bone stock in my 10 qt stock pot than in the IP. Rice was always better on the stove top over the IP. I also got annoyed at having to clean all the pieces. Yes the pot and part of the lid went in the dishwasher, if there was room. But all the seals and small plastic pieces were hand washed.
Instant Pot- I didnt find it to be a time saver at all. Now I mainly use it for hard cooking eggs and making the potatoes and eggs for potato salad. Air Fryer- I had one when they first came out and gave it away. During a going out of business sale at Bed Bath and Beyond, I bought a new one with 2 drawers. I really need to get it out of the box ...
Probably won't get one for a little while as I want to be sure and get a good one-- so if it's a little costly one that's ok I want quality. Obviously I don't want to spend more than necessary though

The more full the pot is the longer it takes. Once you use it for awhile, you will get a very good feel for how long it takes to pressurize.
But I use my instant pot more than my air fryer. I use a meat tenderizing mallet and marinate overnight. Then I cook it super fast, like an air fryer or on the grill. On the grill it’s 2 minutes per side. As long as you slice it across the grain, it’s tender.
Happy Thursday! The air fryer chicken thighs I made earlier this week were good so I have some left overs for tonight with rice and veggies. We have wonderful neighbors and he's having an angiogram and I'm guessing stent placed this am. So, I'm bringing dinner. Since it's so hot I'm gonna do air fryer chicken sandwiches and now that I'm cooking for other people than dh I'm going to make an air fryer roasted red potato recipe and cole slaw for them. Dh doesn't eat cole slaw.
