  2. How many Amazon orders have you placed in the last 6 months?

    forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/293748-how-many-amazon...

It looks like I have about the same amount of digital orders, I estimate 60. My digital orders are just one item per order, whereas my normal orders are a dozen items in an order. Most of my orders are divided up into 3-4 separate shipments, but still counted as one order. I have Prime. I don't know what I'd do without Amazon.

  3. Why do Amazon returns have so many different return locations?

    forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/732886-why-do-amazon...

Amazon Fresh seems to have more space. (there's one woman I dont' want to deal with at the Amazon Hub, so I try to avoid it. She basically sends you off to go process your return yourself so she doesn't have to do anything. Do your job. Because of her, I've been going to Kohl's when I'm near them. 2 days a week.

They will also hold packages from either carrier for you to pick up. It also happens to be the drop off point locally for Amazon returns. The next nearest Amazon return point is 2 hours away. 😕. When we lived overseas, we didn't get mail delivered to our house at all.

  6. Highlands Latin School Cottage Program? Am I crazy?

    forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/523408-highlands-latin...

I went at the end of last school year and toured HLS Cottage School. Seemed fine. The classes that they offer seem really interesting. My son is a rising 3rd grader, and I wanted something that would give me more accountability for him. We have been doing Classical Conversations each Friday and so far so good. I don't feel overwhelmed.

  7. Possible Covid exposure-talk me down - The Chat Board - The Well...

    forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/736040-possible-covid...

Mean incubation period is about 4 days (exposure to symptoms). Tests often don't turn positive until a few days after that. I wouldn't waste tests on testing before 5 days post exposure. 5-7 day post-exposure is probably ideal. ETA: we managed to protect family when I had covid last year using these strategies.

  8. Saxon Math vs. Horizons Math - The Well-Trained Mind Community

    forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/204780-saxon-math-vs...

I've used both Saxon (K, 1, 2, and 3 and then 4/5 or 5/4 or whatever it's called these days ;)) and Horizons (K, 1, 2, and 3). I think they both have a lot of work -- but the work is different. Saxon has a lot of review of previously-taught concepts, along with a few problems covering the topic for that lesson.

  9. Has anyone tried a Pepper bra? Update - The Chat Board - The Well...

    forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/721463-has-anyone-tried-a...

Update: The Pepper bras are great. They do fit with no gapping. For the first time in my life, I also tried a bra (off Amazon) for girls/teens. I should have been doing this all along. Who knew. I got a whole pack of bras for $20.00. Nothing to lose there.

  10. How frequently do your in laws visit? - The Chat Board - The Well...

    forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/526923-how-frequently-do...

The Chat Board. How frequently do your in laws visit? Just curious as to averages and ranges I guess. Mine live about an hour away and we average about every 1-2 months. When they lived hours away it was usually every 3-4 months. I see my parents about every two weeks or less (they visit and they also babysit).

  11. How many pencils and erasers do your kids go through?

    forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/497940-how-many-pencils...

The pink cap erasers and big erasers don't last in my house. My kids are rough on the cap erasers and older poke holes on the big pink ones. Now they use two white polymer erasers each per year. They use less than a dozen pencils a year. They have their own pencil boxes and their own rations of pencils and erasers.
