Oregon City High School was established 139 years ago in 1885 on the lower level of Oregon City on Jackson Street Due to the growing number of students in the late 1980s, a freshman campus was established in 1989 at Moss Junior High School on the southeast side of Oregon City and the main campus had just the upper three grades (10–12) for its last fourteen years.
The district grew so rapidly that in 1915 a bond was approved to expand the facilities and by 1936, a new three-story brick building was built. When they moved the high school population to the new building, the former High School building was used as Oregon City Junior High from 1936 to 1955.
The city, and several surrounding communities, is served by the Oregon City School District, [20] a public school district consisting of 7 elementary schools, two middle schools, a traditional four-year high school (Oregon City High School), and an alternative secondary school.
In 1997, operations of the high school were taken over by the then-newly formed Oregon Trail School District. [ 5 ] In 2008, voters approved a $115-million education bond for Clackamas County , $75 million of which was sequestered to use for constructing a new high school. [ 4 ]
It is the only high school in the Oregon City School District. The school is named for Jeremiah Clay, who donated his farmland for the school to be built on. [6] Over the last few years, the Clay High School Campus has undergone remodeling. An addition was made to the main building, while the old elementary and the Annex were demolished.
In 2008, 83% of the school's seniors received a high school diploma. Of 291 students, 241 graduated, 37 dropped out, four received a modified diploma, and nine were still in high school the following year. [6] [7] In 2022, 89% of the school's seniors received a high school diploma. Of 317 students, 285 graduated, and 32 dropped out. [8]

Bend Senior High School is the oldest high school located in Bend, Oregon, United States. The school opened 120 years ago, in 1904, but did not graduate its first class of seniors (three students) until 1909. Old Bend High School, the original building, was located downtown on Bond Street, where the Bend-La Pine School District office now stands.
