Consumer Cellular is expensive! I've had Mint Mobile for almost 2yrs without any slowdown in service, except when exceeding data allowance, which only happened to my husband once. Runs on the TMobile network. We both have the "unlimited talk and text and 5GB data" plan and it's $15/mo which needs to be paid 3mo in advanced.

I moved my cellular service from AT&T thinking I would get a better price with better service. I also needed a new phone. After buying a new Consumer Cellular Apple Iphone and having their service for nearly 4 weeks, I decided to discontinue my relationship with Consumer Cellular because I had continued problems with its service.

In Consumer Cellular’s case, those carriers are AT&T and T-Mobile. Also, as an MVNO that leases towers from AT&T and T-Mobile, Consumer Cellular customers may not have access to the entire network of those carriers and may experience slower speeds since the carrier’s customers get priority during heavy network usage."

We switched to Consumer Cellular from Verizon and we absolutely love it! You always get to talk to an actual person. Our understanding is that they use AT&T towers. We've had no problems with reception. Same service as former provider plus a brand new Iphone SE for half what it cost us through Verizon.

I can get a barely used, unlocked, Samsung Galaxy A35 5G, Unlocked for about $100 less than the same phone (identical make and model number) on the Consumer Cellular website. Is there a good chance this phone will work on Consumer Cellular? This might be a stupid question and, yes, there are such things as stupid questions. Thanks.

Consumer Cellular assured me my plan (including international calling through T-Mobile - they have an agreement) would transfer to my iPhone 14. It did not because the iPhone 14 uses an eSIM only. I am left with an iPhone 14 with NO cell service because Consumer Cellular refuses to unlock it even though I owe them NO money for the phone.

Thank you so much for helping the Consumer Cellular community to rid of the CMAS notification. Going to the company I had a representative tell me she had researched this issue due to the many calls she had received, and then said it is a government issue. I just needed to wait until the government released the alert icon.

The pricing is very deceptive. I have a Welcome to Consumer Cellular information letter with my account number on it showing that my monthly fee before taxes, including AARP discount for 1 line is $47.50 with the 2nd line as Free.

  11. CONSUMER CELLULAR is lying about reduced coverage and speed

    community.aarp.org/t5/Benefits-Discounts/CONSUMER-CELLULAR-is-lying-about...

CONSUMER CELLULAR is lying to their customers about why they need to get new SIM cards for their phones. The reason they require you to get a new SIM card for your phone is because T-Mobile is no longer going to give Consumer Cellular access to their Network, therefore Consumer Cellular service will only be available where AT&T coverage is ...
