Xreading VL is an online, virtual library with hundreds of graded readers supported by an easy-to-use learner management system. The system has been developed to make graded readers more accessible for students and extensive reading programs easier for teachers to manage and assess.
Because Xreading is a virtual library, students have unlimited access to all of the graded readers, anywhere, anytime. Books are never checked out or unavailable. Students can search for and read books using their pc or mobile device.
Xreading VL has a simple-to-use learner management system (LMS) that allows teachers to monitor and assess their students' reading. The LMS not only lets teachers know which books their students are reading, but also how many words they’ve read and their reading speed.

While doing extensive reading is a great way for students to improve their reading fluency, research shows that combining extensive reading with a dedicated speed reading program, one in which students spend several weeks reading short easy passages as quickly as possible is even more effective.

The following is a tutorial for studentsfor Xreading VL. It shows how to add (check out) books to an assignment and take online quizzes. If you don’t have an active assignment, you will not be able to check out a book. When you login, you will be brought to the Home page.
The test quickly provides students with an Xreading Reading Level which corresponds to the level of books in the Xreading library. This document gives information about the test and explains how the reading level that the test provides for each student can then be used within Xreading.
