Deer stand windows / design ideas. I came across a new "tower" (an old fuel tank stand) that I plan to build a box for since the wind took out one of my blinds. Thinking about a 4ft x 8 ft box to take advantage of the supports on the tower. Bottom of box will be about 5ft off the ground. Figure this will be a good "family" stand.
October 5, 2019 at 5:47 pm #1882940. I use 12″x30″ plexiglass with hinges attached to the top to allow to tip out to open and a piece of wood spins out to hold it open. I have about $20 invested in the 4 windows for each of my stands. I use a buddy heater for heat if needed and usually keep a window cracked open.

They are removeable but are not very weather tight. The stand works great for gun season but found out I can’t pull my bow back the 4′ way.
Our general formula has been 24-26 ga galvanized sheet metal skin, 0.75" fiberboard or foam board insulation, 0.25" MDF paneling, covered in outdoor rated carpet. So the wall thickness is 1" +/-, and then framed out with 2x2's around the floor and top, vertically on all corners, and around the door and windows.

1. giddings_ag_06. 7:49p, 10/28/17. AG. Check out the Dillon fiberglass deer stands. Dillon Stands. Pricey, yes, but very good quality and comfortable. They have shelves and keep moisture and bugs out as good as any other deer stand will. There's quite a few dealers around Texas and we've been pleased with ours.
