It states that it has significant advantages in technology that allow it to safely mix in any of today's two cycle engines calling for 50:1, 40:1, 32:1, and 16:1 ratios. It says to pour contents of bottle (6.4 ounces) into 2 or 2.5 gallons of gasoline. This would be either 40:1 or 50:1.
LawnBoy mower = 32:1. Sears leaf blower = 32:1. WeedEater string trimmer = 40:1. Skil string trimmer = 50:1. My solution: I just run 40:1 modern (full synthetic) oil with 100% pure 89 octane gas and call it a day. Seems to work well. Plugs look fine, starts are easy and power output seems strong. I recently purchased a can of TruFuel 40:1 to ...
If you go from 32:1 to 40:1 or 50:1 it will be running rich, if you go the opposite from 40:1 to 32:1 it would be lean without carburetor adjustment. Nonsense. Everything else being equal, running either a 32:1 or 40:1 gas/oil mixture ratio will NOT make ANY difference in the air/fuel mixture ratio and need for a carburetor adjustment.
maple ridge, bc. May 13, 2020. #18. I run 40:1 in everything, including my Hitachi leaf blower that calls for 50:1. I mix the oil with E10 premium unleaded, this seems to substantially reduce the smoke and oil smell and the engine starts way easier when cold.
My Echo equipment calls for 50:1. I just wanted to verify my calculations were correct. 40:1 trufuel would have 128 oz fuel and 3.2 oz of oil. 32 oz of this mix would be 31.2 oz fuel and .8 oz of oil (40:1) To make this mix 50:1 I would need to add 8.8 oz of 4 cycle fuel, which would give me 40oz of fuel, with .8 oz of oil.
Sep 19, 2023. #3. oil pan 4 said: I have been running 40:1 now for a while with regular ethanol free pump gas and red armor oil. My echo saws smoke a little bit more if I let them idle for say 20 seconds or more then I get back on the throttle. Biggest change I noticed is the 60cc echo pops on the first pull most of the time and if I'm quick I ...
Aug 16, 2014. #1. Hey guys. I got a new Stihl line trimmer (weed eater) yesterday, and got a 6 pack of their Stihl HP Ultra synthetic oil with it. Mixed with a gallon of gas, it makes a 50:1 ratio. I was wondering if the this fuel mix would be ok to use on my older Mcculloch trimmer which requires a 40:1 mix.
WV. Nov 9, 2015. #10. Oil mix ratio is more a function of oil technology than engine technology. In other words, the oils generally available at the time were of a quality that they needed to be a more oil heavy mix, ie 25:1. As oil technology advanced, then we went to 32, 40 and now 50:1.
2,511. Location. socal. Apr 20, 2015. #14. I think 40:1 is a very good ratio. I never had a problem with 40:1 or 50:1 in my trimmmers or chain saw. I use ELF syn 2 stroke oil I found on clearance at a local cycle shop. I bought the last quart for $6 and it'll last me forever.
Oct 18, 2020. #20. 50:1 in a 4-stroke seems a bit strong, although I've never tried it. Probably would be OK in most OPE as long as the spark plug is checked often and changed when necessary. I do use TC-W3 at 500:1 (plus blue Sta-Bil at 500:1) in all my 4-stroke OPE, every tank. Been doing this for about a decade.
