Beware of Select Home Warranty. I can't believe I fell for this scam of a company. When I was sold the policy, I was told select home warranty would completely cover the cost of repair of appliances around the house when they break. Of course, in the fine print, they say they do not cover the cost of labor, which is usually the bulk of any ...

  3. Select Home warranty is systematically a fraud: stay away

Select Home warranty is systematically a fraud: stay away. We had our first claim in our first year of paying for this home warranty. The company has used a number of tactics, all clearly planned very carefully, to deter us from getting our reimbursement. I can't believe there is not a class action lawsuit in place.

Beware: SELECT HOME WARRANTY. I purchased a contract for home warranty on 12/11/23 and paid for the full year. The salesman presented the plan very well. When asked about exclusions, the response was "very few". When asked about coverage limits, the response was "we have the best coverage in the industry". I expected any salesman to say that.

Wow, $360 for 15 months and a $60 deductible is a solid deal! I went with Select Home Warranty too, and so far, no complaints. Negotiating skills paid off, right? I had a similar experience. Found an awesome deal through this site to compare local home warranty quotes.

Then I was told that under section E2 of my contract it states that Choice Home Warranty is not responsible for any work that their contractor do and I should call the contractor for the problem. So just a warning if you are in the market for a home warranty, do not choose Choice Home Warranty. They work hard at not paying claims!!!

Facebook friends and family, I have waited a couple of days to cool off before posting this. Those who know me well understand. I had a problem with my garage door a couple of weeks ago. So I called my home warranty service, American Home Shield. I have had AHS for over 16 yrs. I have paid monthly payments on time and seldom called any repairs.

Last I checked, Choice Home Warranty also had multiple consumer fraud cases against it in several states. Choice Home Warranty is the worst, dishonest, hateful service ever. They have taken my money $69.00/mo for the past year and a half, and now, when our hot water heater goes out, they will not replace it.

I purchased a 1 year Lubrico warranty on the Delica I imported, this was my first time purchasing a 3rd party warranty so I definitely was not careful enough. To maintain the warranty I had to get regular 5000km(!) oil changes done at one of their specified shops then report it to Lubrico, only 1 was willing to work on a JDM vehicle.

After having a home warranty with American Home Shield which was included in the purchase of our home for 4 years switched to Liberty. Definitely researched options and Liberty was given an excellent review. Purchased the plan that covers appliances. It is March in Connecticut and our boiler or furnace stopped working the last week of February.
