NBC first began televising golf events after it was awarded the television rights to the U.S. Open in 1954.The tournament continued to air on the network through the 1965 event, however NBC rebuffed a long-term deal to broadcast the event when the United States Golf Association (USGA) decided on a true contract in 1966.
The following is a list of commentators who have worked for ABC Sports golf coverage and Golf on ESPN coverage from 1962 until the present. Note that golf on both platforms has effectively been presented by the same anchors since ABC's purchase of ESPN in 1984.
In 2007, ESPN and ABC covered just the first two rounds of the US Open and the final two rounds of the Open Championship.
