For similar or slightly more money you can find a good, high condition shotgun of known quality. I think you're being a little unfair to lump all Tri-Star guns into the junk category.
to praise cheap break open shotguns and instead encourage good inexpensive options that include Turk made autoloaders like the Tristar G2 Viper. But hey, if the OP wants a TT-15 then by all means go for it. In the long run it won't make or break him. Here is a thread from those bullies commenting on a sub $2000 break open shotgun.
I always shot my browning 725 combo unsingle for the longest time. I mainly shoot trap, and thought this will be the last shotgun I'll ever buy. Lately, I kept seeing these adds for the new tristar tt-15 combo trap gun. So I kept doing the research, and could not find one bad review. I've always had a fascination for unsingle barrel trap guns ...
Initial thoughts/review of tristar cobra 2 .410. I bought my cobra 2 .410 at Wally World for $240. It actually handles and points great. I set up my trap machine with a wobbler today to try her out. As far as shooting goes, I shoot the gun great almost as well as my 20ga beretta a400. Unfortunately it is completely unreliable with 2.5” shells.
The Tristar Cobra is an Turkish imported pump shotgun that has three inch chambers and a removable spring in the action to help the user pump it. It comes in all flavors from mall ninja people shooter blaster to traditional steel and walnut. I own a Tristar gas semi auto Raptor. It works like a crowbar and the gas operation reduces felt recoil.
After 3 months it's on it's way back to fix a problem with the safety. His dad had a conversation with a Tri-Star CS person and was told that their field guns are not meant for high volume shooting. She suggested they upgrade to their competition guns. So, Tri-Star admits that they won't hold up to high volume.

Absolutely nothing to look at and the shape of the black plastic forearm gives me nightmares. I shoot this gun twice a week and have used it last dove season with great success. This gun gets a minimum of 250 rounds ...

I tore it down, and gave it a thorough cleaning, lubed it back up, and it sat for a week, (we went to Illinois to visit). The gun is a 28 inch barrel wood stocked gun, and it tips the scale at 6 pounds 3.8 ounces.
Tristar Raptor 12 ga review. Purchased this gun at Sportsman’s after reading several positive reviews- seems well made, price was right- took it home, cleaned it and shot it- ran the recommended box of 3” magnums (Fiocchi nitro pheasant ) through it without a hitch- the shot a round with light target loads- the only issue I had was it ...
Tristar will tell you they are meant for occasional hunting. I know of several that have failed on the skeet field in their first year of use. Cheap O/U shotguns are generally a bad idea especially those that sell for less than a 1/2 way decent semi-auto shotgun. Radicalized by the US Constitution. StanofKansas.
