While the essential mod is easy to work with (just using usernames) it puts a load on the hosting pc as it host a server on your computer, aternos on the other hand hots a server on an external device which is not good for big modpacks (aternos doesn't give a lot of ram). Now download essential. Do add to existing profile. Now what I did (there probably is a faster way) is chose the fabric loader profile that was created using iris.
essentials from essential.gg? yeah its a very very well known mod and perfectly safe to use, would i use it for server hosting though? honestly no. the server that essential would open would still eat more system resources than playing solo so at that point why wouldnt you guys just set a server up on the strongest pc to be lag free and have more customizability, cant port forward? no problem ...
