This is very handy and won't be available with the flatpak installation method. With flatpak out of the picture (for me at least) there are a few other possibilities to make it work: Distrobox: I tried my best with installing 1password inside a container in Distrobox.
So, specifically for Microsoft stuff, it is generally better/necessary to use their app. However, for everything else, there is zero reason to use the Microsoft Authenticator for MFA above anything else. 1Password not only will work perfectly fine for those other services/logins/etc., but will automatically paste them directly in for most sites.
