When I placed my MYP order the other day, it asked if I was transferring license plates from an existing vehicle, which I am not. I plan to get new plates and wanted to get customized plates. Does Tesla order plates automatically or do I do this myself at the local DMV after receiving the car?

I have ordered multiple ones prior to getting my county dmv issued license plate. You have to pick them up at the your county DMV and you have to surrender your original issued license plate to exchange them to your personalized one.
