Hi All, I live in Australia. I have 2019 Santa Fe Elite with 2.2 diesel engine with a rattling noise when accelerated to around 1750-2000 rpm. The noise can be mainly heard from left side of the engine when you open the engine bay and face the engine from front. I have showed to the dealer now 2 times, but they couldn't figure it out.
Santa fe 2006 turbo diesel initial DPF issue. I have only just joined the site as I just bought a Santa fe 2006 turbo diesel for the missus. When I bought it, it was blowing lots of smoke but once it was over 2500rpm and on the freeway up to the Central Coast from Sydney it ran fine. When I got home, I ran a scanner on it and it showed a dpf fault.
- the 2006-2009 Santa Fe used the 2.2 CRDT with a cambelt which was a development of the earlier 2.0 TD - the 2010-2012 Santa Fe used the 2.2 CRDi with a camchain which was the all-new R-series in-house Hyundai engine which was completely different to the earlier 2.2

I just remove all the fuel injector electrical sockets to clean the leaking oil from injector rubber seal. Then when put it back and try to start, it won't start until the third try finally starts.

I also run a 35 year old Land Rover with a V8, about 23 mpg on a similar run, can drop below 20 mpg without too much effort.

DPFs need to get hot occasionally to burn off the ...
Thank you for that detail. Have a 2008 Santa Fe CM 2.2L CRDi with a D4EB motor, just clocked 93000kms. Have had such a good run with this car have bought a brand new MY15 Santa Fe to replace it. For the trade in price have sold the 2008 santa fe to my father in law. I am looking into doing the timing belt.

If the misfire is still there when the throttle is opened and the injectors and their wiring are defo OK, then a cylinder compression test would probably be the next easiest thing to check. Regards. Scottie. +1 for checking the EGR valve. Seems to run fine once you give it some welly.
Santa fe 2011 crdi diesel. Poor running and smelly. Hi all, was hoping someone would be able to point me in the right direction. For the past 3 years our car (125k miles) has had intermittent poor running issues. About 30% of the time it is somewhat down on power, exhaust smells and poor tick over (very occasionally willbstall on tickover).
