Except season 3 most definitely did not suck. The vaults were great, the stuff out in the open world was fine (felt like slightly less to do than the season 2 ones but you still had the infinite summoning area and the whispers in the active zones, it just didn't have the smaller summoning things that called the bloodseekers) but the vaults being better than nightmare dungeons was a huge plus ...

D2R. Sometimes I look back and in memory Diablo 3 looks visually way better than 4. Diablo2:R by far. D3 is playable. Tho its super narrow and get boring fast, but comparing to D4 that is just unplayable, D3 is better. Which is better, played quiet a but of 3 and not so much of 4 but already 3 feels way more polished.
You can absolutely get your money’s worth and anyone who argues that is, basically, a trolling moron. Objective fact due to arithmetic. Pros:its a very good single player 40 hours campaign. Cons:it requires multiplayer for good paced progression and offers no multiplayer quality of life features.
Definitely worth it. All the new changes are in S4 so you will have to wait for those. You can do the campaign now that is very good. With it being on Game Pass you can try it for cheap. Yes. PTR was good. Season 4 gonna be good. Always has been. If you want to play it, then yes it is.

The itemization is better. The end game is better. The trading is better. Online play is better, actual in game chat for a better community feeling. D4 plays much better, looks better, feels better, sounds better. I also vastly prefer the theme of Diablo. LE is a little goofy with the marvel time line traveling stuff.
So Diablo IV is my first game in the Diablo franchise and first ARPG and first video game in about 13 years. I thoroughly enjoy and played since about 2 weeks after launch. In S0 I created a Rogue as a friend said TB was meta. Tried it and I was awful at it.
