Liese van Zee is a professor from hell. Just took a "pud" level 100 gen ed with her and it was one of the most difficult classes I've ever had to take at IU. I'm lucky that I've already taken 4 astronomy courses before this so I was able to squeeze out a decent grade.

As far as recommendations of courses to avoid, I do have a strong recommendation of a professor to never take a class with. Avoid Professor Prateek Sharma like the plague. Just check out his Rate My Professor reviews and especially his OCQs (you can search for CSCI-P 434 and select him as the instructor). His OCQs are comical, 14 responses, 0% ...
You should really be careful ever placing faith in rate my professor. It is the prime example of selection bias in survey reporting. Usually it seems that mostly bad students have a professor who just doesn't hand them a solid grade and they will go to RMP and complain. Some complaints are valid but a majority are probably bogus.

Go on IU grade distribution to help pick your classes as well as rate my professor. IU grade distribution shows the percentage of A's, B's, C's and D's each professor gives. Take an easy 3 or 4 credit class, as well as an easy 1 credit class like bowling to boost your GPA. Do not underestimate the classes.
