  3. That Mouse Trap board game I barely knew how to play.

    www.reddit.com/r/nostalgia/comments/9nkbba/that_mouse_trap_board_game_i_barely...

Die-hard Mouse Trap fan here, I can confirm this is false. The instructions state that the cheese can be "spent" by a player on the "Turn Crank" square in the loop near the end of the game path, and allow the player to roll the die for another player's mouse.

  5. Mouse Trap: how many hours did you spend "setting it up" - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/nostalgia/comments/16ldu7r/mouse_trap_how_many_hours_did_you...

The game play could pretty much be operated on auto-pilot, kinda like chutes and ladders, and the actual sequenced play served only as a way to string out the actual assembly of the trap.... which occurred piece by piece as the mice progressed across the board. The version I had was definitely only had red and yellow parts for the trap, however.

  6. How to turn Mousetrap into a game adults can enjoy? :...

    www.reddit.com/r/boardgames/comments/y7kvan/how_to_turn_mousetrap_into_a_game...

The game is just designed bad fundamentally. The most fun part of it is the mouse trap going in action. If I had to make it fun I would get rid of the dice rolling and just put mice in the trap. And if someones mouse got caught they have to drink.

  7. Mouse trap board game : r/nostalgia - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/nostalgia/comments/12xp57r/mouse_trap_board_game

IMO, the game itself was no fun. The whole point of the game was the trap as a toy. We tried actually playing the game which only had you run around the board with the goal of completing the trap anyway, then you just circled the trap at the end until someone lucked out and got to spring the trap.

  8. Has anyone ever made a game that is like Mouse Trap... but good?

    www.reddit.com/.../comments/a17liy/has_anyone_ever_made_a_game_that_is_like_mouse

The problem with Mouse Trap is that the boardgame part of it is tacked-on and pointless. The fun part is just making a Rube Goldberg machine, and you can do that with any random objects around the house, maybe using YouTube videos for inspiration if you run out of ideas.
