Welcome to the Assessor's Office. Each year, the Assessor's Office identifies and determines the value of all taxable real and personal property in the county. These values are used to calculate and set levy rates for the various taxing districts (cities, schools, etc.) in the county and to equitably assign tax responsibilities among taxpayers.
In Clark County, property taxes are collected by the Treasurer's Office and distributed to the various taxing districts that provide services to the property owner. These taxing districts include fire districts, school districts, port districts, cities, and the county among others.
After filing the original affidavit, the County Assessor will mail you an Exemption Renewal Post Card each year. To continue your exemption, simply sign and return this postcard to the Assessor's Office.
