Year-Round Internship Program Advice. Hi all, I recently accepted an offer to join the Year-Round Internship Program for the Spring semester. I’m thrilled at the opportunity to work for JPL and be a part of such an innovative and storied organization. My JPL internship has an explicit end date in May 2022; however, a later email from my ...

You should submit your app as early as possible to maximize your chances. As soon as the 2025 app opens since most groups operate in a rolling manner in hiring interns as needed afaik. Otherwise, it’s pretty much a “put it in and pray” thing. There’s a lot of people that want to intern, so just gotta hope your app makes it out of the ...

Hello everyone! I’m an aerospace engineering student and I’ve interned for NASA at two different centers (Armstrong and JPL). You definitely do not have to study aerospace engineering to work/intern at NASA. NASA is a great place to intern from my experiences so I wanted to give some tips that have personally worked for me in the past.

JPL staffing is a bit complicated and weird. In JPL language, the section you are in dictates the type of work you are supporting. All groups have a 3 digit ID code, that starts with their Section #, so, while group 512 is procurement quality assurance, they are part of section 5XX (called 5x), mission assurance.

Hey, 3x intern here @ JPL. My interview was pretty simple, they'll ask some questions about your ability, projects you've worked on, stuff like that. There isn't any of the weird trick questions, they tend to be straight to the point. Re: the role itself, it's a 10 wk program & you'll get to work on engineering projects.

JPL's much lower salary is only a small factor for me. My biggest concern with the JPL program is the fact that it is pitched as a mainly educational as opposed to job training program (We have to write reports and do presentations on what we are learning during the internship.) Another deterrent is that it seems much harder to land a part-time ...

I mean, if all options are on the table, the absolute best way for anyone to intern at JPL right now is probably to get your own funding (through a scholarship, fellowship, or through your graduate advisor) to do a self-funded internship via the JVSRP program at no cost to the lab. Being self-funded is especially valuable at a time when ...
