This is a list of Royal Doulton Bunnykins figurines. Doulton & Co. (Royal Doulton) introduced the Bunnykins figurines in 1939 with six original Bunnykins figurines designed by Charles Noke based on illustrations by Sister Mary Barbara Bailey. Shortly thereafter, and prior to World War II, Doulton & Co. discontinued their manufacture.
John Beswick Ltd, formerly J. W. Beswick, was a pottery manufacturer, founded in 1894 by James Wright Beswick and his sons John and Gilbert in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. [ 1] In 1969, the business was sold to Doulton & Co. Ltd. The factory closed in 2002 and the brand John Beswick was sold in 2004.
Royal Doulton Figurine, Cobbler HN1706. Designed by Charles John Noke, produced 1935-1969. He is also well known for launching the HN figurines (named after Harry Nixon who was in charge of the figure painting department). This naming convention for figurines still endures today.
There is another "February" figurine probably from the early 50s. I forgot to note the HN number but it is of a boy, a smaller size than most figurines, with a turquoise coat and black boots. It belongs to my mother who has two other figurines from the same era. If anyone knows the HN number, perhaps we can add him to the list.
